Empathic Educators — Bridging Mental Health and Education

About us

Bridging mental health and education.

Empathic Educators CIC is a community interest company providing preventative, whole-family support for children with SEND and children experiencing social, emotional and behavioural challenges — alongside support for the parents and carers who love them.

Why we exist

Families told us there was not enough.

Having run Homework Clubs for children and families since 2021, the most common feedback we heard from parents was that there were not enough activities for their children with SEN.

Parents told us they were excluded from activities in the borough after being told their child needed one-to-one support. Empathic Educators CIC was set up — with qualified teachers and psychotherapists — to support those families.

Families should not have to wait until they reach crisis point before someone listens.

Where we deliver

Local roots, wider reach.

We currently deliver face-to-face support in Central and South Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

We recognise that families do not all understand SEND, emotional wellbeing, behaviour or mental health in the same way. Culture, language, faith, family structures and past experiences of services all shape whether families feel comfortable seeking help — so our work is deliberately accessible, inclusive and culturally responsive.
